Flaky, creamy and so delicious
Bougatsa Thassalonkis
QUANTITY : 1 tray of Bougatsa
PREP TIME : 30 mins
COOK IN OVEN : 180c 30-40 mins

Lets make this Delicious Dessert!
Ingredients
A packet of filo pastry or around 8 sheets of filo
Fresh Milk 1 1/2 litre
Fine semolina 200g
Butter 55g
Sugar 200g
Salt 1 pinch
Melted cow butter for filo 150g
For Sprinkling : Icing sugar and cinnamon
Method
In a saucepan, add the milk, semolina, sugar , vanilla and salt
let them boil over medium heat, stirring constantly till the cream is smooth and thick
Remove from the heat and add the butter, stir and set aside
Butter a baking dish size 34-36 and lay 4 sheets down, buttering them one by one
Then put all of the cream mixture on top and spread it evenly to make a level layer.
Then put 4 more sheets of filo on top and butter one by one turn the sheets that protrude inwards
Bake in a preheated oven for 30- 40 mins at 180c on the middle grill
When you remove it from the oven, cut into small pieces and sprinkle with plenty of icing sugar and cinnamon. Kali Orexi!
Notes
Tastes yummy hot or cold but is nicest warm. Ideal to have with a coffee or tea.
