Greek Lagana Bread

QUANTITY : 4 Medium Laganas

PREP TIME : 20 mins

COOK IN OVEN : 170c 20mins

DIFFICULTY : Easy

Lets Bake some Bread!

Ingredients


  • 2 sachets of Dried yeast or 50 g fresh Yeast

  • 50g Sugar

  • 800g Plain Flour ( can be any flour or mixture)

  • 15g Salt

  • 500ml of Luke warm Water (about 40c)

Method

In a bowl add all the ingredients

Add the water and mix well

Leave the dough to rest and double

Cut the dough into 4 pieces and make them into balls

Shape the dough to lagana shape

In a bowl add 200ml and 1 tbs spoon of sugar and mix. Brush each lagana with the sugar water and sprinkle sesame on both sides.

Line the baking trays and bake in a preheated oven at 70C for about 20mins.

Notes

To eat the bread tear it rather than cutting with a knife (greek tradition)
